I think the mattress industry’s sinister. Here’s one tiny example. if you look at reviews for mattresses half the time, especially for things like Serta, Sealy you’ll find that there is like no reviews or just one review and that’s because they make a bazillion different mattresses literally like they just change it every year and all that stuff probably so reviews can’t pile up unless maybe it’s like a top notch edition one or something. like they’ll have the i comfort and the i comfort 2 or whatever and also just many, many different variations that don’t matter but it’s just so weird because half the time when you look it up even on their own website there’s like one review or zero reviews for these mattresses it’s because they just make up a bazillion of different mattresses n change em every couple o months or w/e That being said while all the technology is probably similar through most of them, they add slight variations to all of them. So I think when they rushed this mattress, I think that they made the edges taller than they should be again it looks flat from the picture but when you lay on it it basically turns a bit into a bit of a spring loaded hammock you know I think all mattresses could be way softer by absorbing more shock. The springs on serta matties are like tense as hell when you lay on em. Even if this don’t sell maybe I taught someone something. I’ve actually done the research So basically yeah if you’re single you’ll find it to be an average mattress but if you are a couple looking for this mattress you might literally not want to sleep on the side (it’s not like you’ll roll into each other but you’re not gonna wanna sleep all the way at the edge so yeah it might be a little bit more close-knit than you want. Like almost literally rolling into each other. This is okay for one person only IMO that being said I’m literally being honest and I just want to let you know that it was only used for about a year and a half because that was my dad‘s mattress and he let me use it and after a year and a half I gave up on it The thing is though is I have a spine issue though so sleeping on my stomach is the most important for that and since that sleeping on the stomach is very uncomfortable but sleeping on the back isn’t too bad ONLY if you have an above average pillow like not just a five dollar one from Walmart you’re gonna want like a thick multi layer memory foam pillow or a very good feather pillow or something nothing entirely polyester ok Life lesson This is over $1000 new according to my dad so it’s a lot better than spending $1000 but I’m gonna give you some legit recommendations here and if for some reason you still want this mattress and come get it I would say avoid literally Serta seriously but If for some reason you are serta bound Single and not a stomach sleeper and have a good pillow (Ps travel pillows for planes r good for beds sometimes ) Then this one actually might be for you. VINTAGE 70s Princess French Provincial Full Canopy 9 Piece Bed Set + 2 Bonus Back in the dark ages, our family moved to a larger home. The girls got their own rooms! Both got Princess French Provincial Bedroom Suites from Sears. We had the coolest bed sets of anybody we knew. Now 54 years later it is still going strong. It’s not perfect, but by in large, it has decades more life in it. Nothing is in perfect condition and may have nicks, notches or scratches. After all, this set is decades old. We do our best to note any imperfections, but we may miss something. We also have old eyes and need you to please zoom in on every picture to verify what we are saying. We also try to take as many pictures as we can but they only allow 10 to 12 per listing. Please feel free to ask for the extra pictures if you want. We have pictures of each piece from every angle as well as the insides of all the drawers. We will gladly send them to you. Originally, we were going to redo this set in a pale blush pink with gold trimming; updating it but using the old hardware. Then I tried remodeling for myself. I spray painted white primer on the chair. Then I had a small emotional meltdown that I ‘ruined’ the chair. It’s not ruined. It is just ‘white;’ not ivory. This is where I learned that I neither have the skills, nor the emotional strength necessary for furniture restoration. If you search for restored French Provincial you’ll see some beautiful ideas. We think that restoring this could be a wonderful project for someone special in your family. Sadly, it is beyond my abilities. If we miss something, or you have other questions, please ask. The set comes with: 1) A six drawer dresser; on each side are 2 single drawers and the bottom double panel is actually a deep drawer for heavier items like sweaters or pants. 2) An attached mirror which can be used either in portrait or landscape position. 3) A desk with 3 single drawers and another ‘double’ deep one. 4) A large desk hutch that runs the length of the desk. The top 2 shelves are perfect for books….or stuffed animals. There are small sliding doors for more personal things you do not want to leave out or your brothers will grab it! There are a few nicks that show in one picture. 5) A desk chair with new cushion padding and covered in new crushed pink velvet. The cushion is not attached to the frame and we are hoping to find the missing screws soon. This really needs a repaint. And the top finial is missing. 6) A tallboy with 3 single drawers and another ‘double’ deep one. The top handle on the double drawer is broken (replacements can be bought online). Also, the veneer on the back left leg was cracked and it has been glued. The leg itself was unbroken, just the veneer. 7) A Hope Chest – That is what they called it in the dark ages. This has a small deep scratch on the top of the lid. Perfect for storing winter blankets. 8) Full bed with head and footboard – This bed has seen better days, and needs more TLC. There are a lot of scratches and marks on the bed. More important, the bottom front rail outer wood slot broke and was fixed with wood epoxy. It did NOT affect the interior steel pins that the rails rest on, but sometime, hopefully far in the future, that part of the leg will need a carpenter or wood turner who can rebuild that part. Then to make matters worse, when I was taking pictures I realized that the lower thin board at the bottom of the headboard was also missing. That was my bed in the dark ages and now I’m wondering if it was always gone? I don’t remember seeing that before!!! Since that is a small thin board, it should be easy to replace. 9) Canopy extensions. These were sold as an add-on. If you bought a twin bed, it would come with a finial at the top of the head or footboard which ended at around the 4 foot mark. If you bought the extension, you’d get another piece (feels plastic compared to the wood) which screws into the hole where the finial went, raising the posters to full height and the finial would go into the hole top while simultaneously holding the metal canopy bars in place. Kind of a nifty invention. Bonus – Vintage Bedspread and Canopy Cover – This was bought to go with the bed, and is in the usual 70s era yellow flower motif. It was washed for decades. One sham and the canopy top have faded. And being material, they are nowhere near perfect. But they do made an easy pattern to follow if you are making a new bedspread for this. 70s Kitschy Chandelier – This is the original chandelier that my parents got to go with the bedroom décor. When these came down after selling my parent’s home, the ‘crystals’ were yellowed with age. The internet said to soak them in hydrogen peroxide for 24 hours and look how sparkly they are! Personally, I’d consider doing them again, but since it’s at the ceiling, who really would notice? They are gold plastic rings with plastic ‘crystals’ that slide into slots that go around the circle. There are metal ‘gold’ chain s that connect the lower ring to the upper ring and then to the metal circle for hanging. Now here is the warning. Growing up, my brothers would throw things into my room. “Mom said, this is your towel,” and wham! I’m picking up icicles to rehang. I’m still convinced they hit that chandelier on purpose. Will that happen to you and your family too?
