I dont know if these are Thonet chairs, but they are nearly identical to the Thonet S33 and Desta ST11 chairs designed by Mart Stam. The S33 has a chrome frame with a moulded plywood back and seat, while mine have chrome frames with an anatomically-contoured steel seat and steel back that curve along the same lines as the S33. My guess is that these were manufactured circa 1930. The black finish on the seats and backs of my chairs seems to be a hard, baked-on plastic or incredibly-durable lacquer paint. It is chipped in some places, and slightly cracked in some others due to age, but the major blemishes have been touched up, and all of the surfaces can be sat upon without concern. There are also countless little dots of minor surface corrosion on the chromed frames, but most can be scraped off with a fingernail, and therefore, a good polishing by hand should make them even prettier than than they are at present. GE HotPoint Washing Machine. Used. Imperfect Working Condition. White. make / manufacturer: GE HotPoint model name / number: HTW240ASK5WS size / dimensions: 26 x 26.5 x 43 I list the GE Hotpoint Washing machine, pair to a GE HotPoint Dryer, at such a low price because it has one quirk that I am willing to describe with honesty and in full disclosure as here follows: The washer, for some reason, does not like doing vey very small loads. Small loads of laundry, from my observation and from what I surmise, throw the washer more off balance than do the larger loads. I believe that it is the kind of motion that is generated from smaller loads of laundry that alter and change the magnetic charge to the top load door lock that communicates with the door lock and keeps the top loading door latched and locked during a cycle. Its not the fact that the washer rollicks or moves that is necessarily the problem, the problem from small loads results from when the mentioned magnet either gets hyper magnetized or de-magnitized, or, alternately and perhaps otherwise, adopts a wrong charge. Either way and for whatever reason, small loads cause a malfunction in either the latchs physical magnetic mechanism or the computer component to the door reading the magnet. Small loads will generally go through one wash - spin cycle and before the wash during the wash cycle prior to the final spin and before the wash fully completes, both latch and door will start talking to each other and the the cycle with prematurely terminate leaving the laundry in a pool of water with a door that alternately locks and unlocks repeatedly. This interrupts completion of the load as the washing machine wants the door and latch to be locked in order to finish the wash and enter into the final spin. Sometimes the washer will want to have this conversation for a long time causing a temporary lock out with the load not finishing. There are two work arounds and interventions to this. 1) The washer can be unplugged and plugged back in allowing for the door to open; and the unfinished load can be placed on a drain and spin cycle to drain the water from the drum and adequately dry the clothing enough to place into a dryer. The attentive reader will note that the wash cycle had not completed and may wonder whether the clothes have been cleaned. Keep in mind that this malfunction occurs on the last wash cycle. I have been satisfied with the cleanliness of my loads when this has happened although there have been times when i have opted for a re-wash with larger loads. Alternately, and once you have caught the door in its non locked mode, in order to complete the cycle, you can trick the door into thinking that it is closed and locked by leaving the top loading door ever so slightly ajar by propping the door open, and pressing continue. This sounds like a fuss and a hassle and it is a fuss and hassle of you are feeding the washer paltry and measly loads. Otherwise, the washer, with more substantive loads, I suppose to keep the unit centered, has always worked for me to the point where I can say that with that caveat and provision, the washer fully functions, is industrious and does its job. I am grateful for the unit despite of its quirk. Should you find that you perhaps did not supply the washer with enough centering weight and do have to endure this issue, you will find that the magnet will reset itself after a day and the unit will stop fussing, as in: the door and door latch will have resolved their differences, having adequately talked and carried on a conversation of lock and unlock and the unit will be back on board, functional and ready to work after its day vacation. The units cosmetic damage is that there is some rust on the inside panel of the door lid and interior front loading panel. This disclosure should substantiate but also ratify the low price. Its a deal with quirk but is a buy at your own risk. I dont want bad reviews. I have openly and honestly disclosed what could be a substantial deterrent to a buyer without the low price tag. Ultimately, I know to give the washer a full meal so that it works. If you were to buy and it were to malfunction Id gladly be on call to walk you through what to do until you got into the hang of re-negotiating that magnetic charge. Of negotiations, I am willing to negotiate on the price. Apologies but only cash is accepted and in advance of the transfer. Dryer sold separately. Please inquire if you want to purchase the pair.
