We bought it new a few years ago and installed it in a 6-foot stock tank. We used it year around. It takes a few hours to get up to temperature from 50 degrees. A little bit longer when there is a layer ice on it. Once it has been covered for the night it would only drop 15 to 20 degrees the next morning. Completely operational.
