Vintage 1971 Raleigh International

Almost perfect - minty - Carlton Raleigh International. Hand-made by Raleigh in 1971. 24 c - c. 25.4 lbs All Campy stuff; Weinmann center-pull brakes; Christophe toe clips; Alfredo Binda strapssee pictures. Ive owned this bike about 15 years - almost all of which was spent in storage. But whenever I came back to the area and opened the storage locker, I said, Hello, Beautiful. And rightly so: she is a gorgeous thing! Almost everything is originalthe tires are clinchersexcept I changed the Nuovo Record chainrings for Super Recordmust have gotten a deal. I might also have changed the original GB handlebars for the particularly pretty GB 1 s you can see nowIm not sure about this; maybe these are the originals. It was long ago in a different place and a different time. This bike is very fasttoo fast for me anywayand has the greatest supple steel feel when riding it! The Brooks Professional saddle has been Proofhided fairly often over the years. The chance - at my age - that Im ever going to ride this seriously again is pretty much 0. I would keep this in my living room just to look at, but it deserves an opportunity to be ridden by somebody who can appreciate it.
