This wash stand was purchased at an antique shop in 1980 and has been used since then in different places in houses over the years. It was made and used in England in the late 1800s in a home before there was running water. People used wash stands that had a bowl and pitcher of water on them to wash themselves. This wash stand has a beautiful ceramic green tile background on the backsplash that surrounds the 3 larger tiles in the middle that have a flower design on the tile. The top is a dark pink solid granite that was very often used during this time period. There are metal towel bars on each side which are original and also the drawer pull on the door and the wooden wheels are also original. There is a lot of room for storage behind the doors. The wash stand measures 36wide x 18deep x 29high. The back is 52high. The granite top and back are removable for easy moving. The wood has been refinished and restored back to its original finish. This washstand is truly a one of a kind piece of furniture that could be used in almost any place in a house. If you are interested, please call Sharon at Seven One Nine-488-Three Seven Eight.
