Klon Centaur, “short tail silver horsie” version, excellent condition

Klon Centaur, “short tail silver horsie” version (’98-’03). Rare and extremely sought after! Serial # S456. Excellent, all original condition with the exception that the bottom-plate screws have been replaced with identical size/thread screws, one of the originals was lost, the other original will be included. I’m not sure what I can say about this legendary pedal other than, imo, the hype is real! I’m helping sell this one on behalf of a friend, but I have also owned a “long tail silver horsie” for roughly 15 years and it will be one of the last pedals I ever sell. It’s a tonal weapon of rock stars, and rightfully so! Why does the pedal represent the missing component of my tone for which I spent decades searching? Why is this pedal so widely coveted? Yes, it’s an overdrive pedal, and the gain can be turned up for plenty of awesome grit, but that’s not how I personally use it. My preference is keeping the gain lower (around 3-4) and the pedal is always on. You could say it adds a certain color and warmth. More specifically, I feel it’s the impact it has when used in combination with a tube amp. Those of us who crossed to tubes from solid state (and will never go back) appreciate the push-pull that comes from a tube amp. The more you dig in, the more you get back… There is a living responsiveness that’s just not present with solid state amps. It’s that exact quality that I feel the Klon Centaur takes and magnifies amazingly. It adds juice to the juice…. truly epic! $4999 obo. Serious inquiries only! No tire kickers please… you know what you are looking at or not. Cash, PayPal or Venmo. Would possibly consider trade for very select items listed below. If interested, please respond with your phone number and some other identifier so I know you are not evil spam! If this post is up, the item is still available…. Thanks! Items possibly/selectively considered for (partial) trade: Alembic bass, Old Gibson anything, late 60s/early 70s Fender Jazz bass (4-bolt), vintage Yamaha SG-7, Moog Taurus pedals, other cool vintage basses or guitars, unique instruments. No more amps, thanks.
